Merge request report

You can view summaries of your GitLab merge requests using customizable report templates.

To open GitLab merge request reports, click DevOps > MR Report. The tab opens on the Report Gallery. If an MR Report tab for the same remote is already open, Zide shows that tab and returns it to the Report Gallery. The filter does not change.

You can also click DevOps > Merge Requests, click More actions for merge requests, and click Open as MR Report. This tab starts on the List report.

In a project with more than one remote, each remote has its own MR Report tab. To open the report for one remote, click DevOps, point to the remote under Sources, and click MR Report.

The header uses the same layout as the Merge Requests activity, with the source, New Merge Request, and More actions above the filter controls. While a report is open, a breadcrumb banner above the filter controls shows Report Gallery followed by the current report name, for example Report Gallery > Roadmap. The Report Gallery is the only place to select a report.

The Report Gallery presents every available report as a card with a miniature preview, the report’s name, and a short description of what it shows.

GitLab merge request reports are grouped into Layouts, Milestone, Date, Assignment, and Overview.

  • Click a card to switch the tab to that report.
  • Move between cards with the arrow keys, and press Enter or Space to open the focused report.
  • Reports the provider does not support are not listed.
  • Reports that summarize the whole result set remain unavailable until the current result is complete. An unavailable report remains visible, and a note above the cards gives the reason. While the results load, the note says that reports become available when the results finish loading. The gallery itself remains available because it describes reports rather than summarizing data.

Click Change Report on the right of the banner or Report Gallery in the breadcrumb to select another report. The tab returns to the gallery and keeps its filter. On the selection screen, the banner shows only Report Gallery and the filter controls are hidden. Selecting a report restores the filter controls and adds the report name to the breadcrumb, which remains visible when results are loading, empty, or unavailable.

What report cards show

The Cards and Board reports show the author’s avatar and name. The name matters because an avatar without an image falls back to an unexplained initial.

Filter merge requests

The merge request report displays all open merge requests in a repository by default. Use the filter selector to choose a filter. Click Show or hide filters to open or close the filter panel. You can filter merge requests with multiple filters at a time; see Exclusions.

Saved filters

The filter selector works as in the Merge Requests activity and uses the same saved filters. Choosing a filter does not change the open report. See Saved filters.
