Compare Refs

You can use the Compare Refs tab to view the file-level differences between two Git refs.

You can open the Compare Refs tab from the Branches tab. Click a branch to expand the row and then click Compare to open the Compare Refs tab with the selected branch and the current branch.

The Compare Refs tab displays each file changed between the refs. Click a file to view the inline diffs of the file. Click the View side-by-side diff icon to view the file in Diff view. Click the Open in Diffs icon to view all file changes in Diff view. For more information, see Diff view.

In the Compare Refs tab, click the Base dropdown to select a ref to compare against. Click the Compare dropdown to select a ref to compare to. Click the Swap base and head icon to swap the base ref with the compare ref.

Click the Flat list or the Tree view to switch between views.

Filter Compare Refs

You can filter files in the Compare Refs tab by All statuses, Added, Modified, Deleted, or Renamed. You can also filter files by name with the Filter files field.
