Credits

You can view your credit usage and purchase more credits to use with Zide AI features. Credits are consumed when you use Zide Assist and AI generation buttons.

View credit details

To view your credit details, including credit total and credit usage, click Account > Credits. The Credit Details dialog displays your total credit balance and the last 10 uses of credits.

Your credit balance includes your monthly allocation of credits and your bulk credits. Zide automatically uses your monthly allocation of credits first.

Used this session shows credits charged since you opened Zide and resets to zero when you restart the app.

Credit usage

Before Zide Assist sends a request, Zide Cloud Service reserves the maximum amount of credits the request could cost. You are charged only for actual usage.

If the maximum amount of credits is more than your available credits, the request is refused before it runs. Nothing is sent to a model and you are not charged credits. Zide Assist displays the appropriate recovery option, such as compacting the conversation, choosing another model, or adding credits.

Buy credits

Monthly credits refresh automatically at the start of each monthly credit period, including when your subscription is billed annually. The credit details and Account Status surfaces display a Refills in countdown based on your current credit period. Any unused monthly credits are cleared when the allocation refreshes.

Bulk credits are separate from the monthly allocation and can be used only while you have an active paid subscription. If your subscription becomes inactive, unused bulk credits are retained for up to 12 months but cannot be used. Resubscribing during that period restores access to any unexpired balance; otherwise, the unused bulk credits expire.

Bulk credit packs can be purchased on all paid Zide license tiers. The Free plan and a lapsed perpetual license cannot buy packs.

To purchase bulk credit packs, complete the following steps.

  1. Click Account > Buy Credits….
  2. In the Buy Credits dialog, select the bulk credit pack you want to purchase.
  3. Click Buy Credits. A Polar checkout will open in your browser.
  4. Complete the purchase to add credits to your account.
